DISPENSARY CHANGES

We are pleased to announce that over the August Bank Holiday weekend our Dispensary was refurbished and doubled in size.

Please see our Prescription page for more information on how to order repeat medication.

 

This expansion has allowed us to open a second access point to the Dispensary to improve the flow of prescriptions and medication and hence reduce waiting times.

 

We would therefore ask that the two access points are used as follows:

1)    The original Dispensary access point (now known as “Dispensary A”) is for the dropping off of prescriptions received during a consultation with a GP and the subsequent collection of the medication arising from that prescription.

2)    The new access point (known as “Dispensary B”) is located in the Conservatory and is for the dropping off of repeat prescription requests and the collection of medication arising from that repeat prescription.

 

Whilst we do still provide the option to speak to a member of our Dispensary staff to order repeat medication it takes much longer for us to process such requests this way and hence reduces overall Dispensary efficiency. Therefore from Monday 11th September we will be accepting telephone calls within the Dispensary from 11am until 4pm each working day.

If you are unable to order your repeat prescription due to a technical issue with The Waiting Room service, please report it by clicking here.

In order to register for The Waiting Room service you must complete a form which can be obtained from Reception or from downloading here.  ID will need to be shown to Reception when submitting the form.

Shortly after our receipt of this form you will receive an activation email containing a link which, which clicked, will take you through the activation process and your new online repeat prescription service will be live.

 
Requesting Repeat Medication by Telephone

We are pleased to announce that you are now able to order repeat prescriptions by telephone 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
To access this service, please telephone (01579) 341924 and follow the instructions.

Repeat Prescriptions

  • 320422_pills_6 Repeat prescriptions can be ordered via 'The Waiting Room' online service, using the link above. You can also order in person from the dispensary hatch or over the telephone.
  • To use 'The Waiting Room' service, you must first provide us with a valid email address then you will receive an email to register for the service.
  • Your online repeat prescription order will take the normal 2 working days to be ready from when your order is placed. (This is excluding weekends & Bank Holidays)
  • The dispensary is open from 8.30am to 6:00pm Monday - Friday
  • Unfortunately we can only dispense to patients that live more than a mile outside the Practice area.
  • The dispensary staff are always willing to help with any queries patients have with their medication. If they are unable to answer your query they will refer it to a doctor.
  • There are three qualified Dispensers all registered with the Association of Pharmacy Technicians and accredited by the Dispensers Doctors Association. The desk and telephone are manned by two dispensary clerks.
  • The dispensary has recently installed two accuracy checking devices to ensure the safe delivery of your medication.
