We have been successfully running a healthy walks group for our patients and everybody is welcome to join.
Walking is simple, free and one of the easiest ways to get more active, lose weight and become healthier. It’s underrated as a form of exercise but walking is ideal for people of all ages and fitness levels who want to be more active.
Regular walking has been shown to reduce the risk of chronic illnesses, such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, asthma, stroke and some cancers.
The walks will be in the local area, of varying distances, and will be led and organised by a group of dedicated volunteers.
All walkers will be welcome – no-one will ever be ‘too slow’ or made to feel that they need to keep up. You will be able to walk at a pace you feel comfortable with and it will be our job to walk with you.
The programme of walks until the end of the year is below and if you wish to join any of them you may just turn up at the start point and time and introduce yourself to the walk leader.
